Dr. Nuñez studied dentistry in Ecuador — then earned it all again in New York
Dr. Maritza Nuñez came to Queens from Ecuador with her husband and eldest son, spent seven years at NYU and Queens College validating her degree, and opened her first office on the first floor of the family home. "We were in Jackson Heights. People looked for us because we were the Núñez family." Four decades later she treats neighbors in English and Spanish, with a team of 8 doctors so patients never get sent somewhere else for care.
